2021 – A Year in Review

Once again, the festive season is upon us, and we find ourselves wrapping up another year. As we prepare to welcome 2022, I would like to share some thoughts with you and to extend heartfelt good wishes to you and yours.

In my two years as president of the school board, the thing that stands out above and beyond all else is PASSION. Each person I have met cares deeply and genuinely for each student, teacher, staff member, and our shared mission. I am honored to be in such a committed community. I know that there is no greater reward than the opportunity to work with passionate people in an outstanding organization.

But our journey never stops! We have grown and evolved much over the past 16 years and this year has been both a time for reflection and, also, for contemplation on the opportunities for what comes next. Over the past 10 months, the Harding Fine Arts Academy School Board with input from teachers, volunteers, and students, has worked diligently to create a new strategic plan.

With guidance from this plan, we aim to take Harding Fine Arts Academy into its future with the resources, facilities, and instructional vision needed to clearly establish our school as the flagship school in which to receive an arts-filled, uncompromisingly rigorous education that equips our students to take their rightful place in the world.

I recognize and appreciate everything you have done to make our school a success this past year. In the coming year I commit to listen to your input as we shape curriculum, expand programs, and renovate our historic building for the 21st century.

If you feel passionately about our mission, I want to encourage you make a donation to the Student Success Fund in honor of our students and teachers. Even $25 will go a long way to ensuring we continue our mission.

Thank you for your past support. I am eager to see how much we can accomplish together in the next year. I hope you have a blessed holiday season!

With the Firehawk Spirit,

Jean Hendrickson

School Board President

Message from the Superintendent – July 2023

Dear Alumni, Donors, and Friends: Last month Assistant Principal Mary Lakey and I had the tremendous opportunity to attend the National Charter Schools Conference (NCSC 23) in Austin, TX. NCSC 23 proved to be a remarkable experience providing opportunities to exchange innovative ideas, gain insights into emerging educational practices, and connect with passionate individuals who share our commitment to providing exceptional education. As I reflect on our participation in NCSC 23, I am reminded of a quote from author Jim Stovall that resonates deeply with me: “Education is a lifelong journey whose destination expands as you travel.” I firmly believe that investing in professional development not only benefits our dedicated faculty and staff but also translates into enhanced educational experiences for our students. It is through ongoing education that we continue to provide high-quality arts-integrated instruction and nurture the talents of each student at Harding Fine Arts Academy. I would like to express my gratitude for your unwavering support in our pursuit of professional development opportunities. It is your belief in our mission and your dedication to the growth of our school that empowers us to continually strive for excellence. As we move forward, we will be sharing the knowledge and insights gained at NCSC 23 with our faculty and staff, incorporating innovative practices into our classrooms, and leveraging our learnings to create an even more vibrant and engaging educational environment for our students. Thank you once again for your ongoing support and for being an integral part of the Firehawk Family. Together, let us continue to embrace the value of lifelong learning and empower our students to achieve their dreams and make a positive impact on the world. Yours in ARTS, Taylor C. Stanton Superintendent Harding Fine Arts Academy
